Equus Amore - Art on Horseback #8 - Acrylic on Canvas 48" x 60"

$6,500.00

“Equus Amore” — meaning Horse Love — was created in February 2018 as a celebration of love in all its forms. It was the first time I ever painted two horses together on one canvas, and that made it especially meaningful. At the time, Rovandio and I were spending the winter at Southern Oaks Equestrian Center in Tallahassee, Florida — a place filled with warmth, inspiration, and creativity. It was the perfect setting for this heartfelt piece. ❤

The painting was created with acrylic paint using both brushes and my hands. On the first day, we built the background — layering color, blending with water, and letting the textures emerge naturally for added depth. On the second day, Rovandio and I brought the pair of horses to life, their forms flowing together in movement and connection. It was our first Art on Horseback piece to feature two horses, and I remember feeling such joy as their relationship took shape on the canvas — a reflection of partnership, harmony, and love.

Since its creation, “Equus Amore” has been proudly displayed at The Polo Bar & Grill in Wellington, Florida, and at Dr. Porter’s PHD Veterinary Services in Newberry, where it shared its message of love and connection with a wider audience. This painting will always remind me of the beauty found in collaboration, both with my beloved Rovandio and within the spirit of the horses themselves. ❤
